For scratch paper, cut up mail that doesn't have writing on it and don't throw away the envelopes. Use the clean back side of envelopes received in the mail for your weekly grocery list and store your coupons you plan to use inside. Also check mail for blank return envelopes - put a mailing label over the clear opening and use it to mail a letter to a friend. Shred any items when done that have any writing on them and turn in with your curbside recycling, to give them another use.
